The pictures you shared, and the stories. I have tears as I read this, Carolyn wrote it beautifully Paul. My condolences to you both... I am sure the sounds of a new puppy will once again reverberate through the house and I am sure Stoli was on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. You had great courage, strength and humanity to care so deeply for that little monkey.
V'yit gadel...

Re: Get off the fence!

It was so nice to meet you as well- love talking to passionate people!

Re: Get off the fence!

Paul,

Aptly put. Homes behave like investments over the long term, but should be viewed first and foremost as homes and not cold assets when being evaluated. I often find myself reminding people that they cannot live in their 401k. It gets drafty.

I tell those who ask that it is a wonderful market for buyers and not so wonderful for sellers up here in the 914.

GREAT to meet you last night and discuss the construction project.

Re: Here one minute, gone the next! We are often "in the weeds" this Summer as business is up 40% from last year. We are very happy about making more money, but we're still trying to reconcile the demand. We keep telling ourselves not to look up and that people understand , and will wait, for good, affordable home cooked , prepared to order food. But, still we stress and find it hard to catch up. And, with a kitchen sized for just two, with 20 customers on line - what a challenge it is. Still, we try. And, will continue to for the next twelve weeks - at least.

Re: 18 Years at 446 Columbus Avenue- time to move on!

beautiful! good luck, (not that u need it), with the new venture Paul!

Re: 18 Years at 446 Columbus Avenue- time to move on!

Lovely anecdote, Paul. Can't wait for the new site to open!

Re: Make your own Fries~

I love your other ideas you have to add to the fries-
The tarragon lemon mayonnaise for a dip sounds delicious-
Thanks for the tip on the seasoning- I don't 100% agree, but that is why there are horse races:)
Have a great weekend!
Re: Make your own Fries~

Adding salt and pepper after the first frying will not improve the fries flavor, however will cause the oil to break down quicker. This in turn will cause your fries to not brown or crisp up properly.
Save all your seasonings until the end.
Other coatings to consider:
Chili pepper (blend)
Curry powder
Granulated Garlic
and of course truffle oil and or salt.
I personally prefer homemade tarragon lemon mayonnaise for a dip

Re: Don’t those loud sirens annoy you?

Very inspiring!
Weather we change the way we live or not, stories like this make us at least reevaluate things
God Job Mr Z

Re: Yes, you can really live above 14th street!

My friend- @MissReingold aka Rachel Mulcahy says:
You should add the Beacon Theatre and Jazz at Lincoln Center as reasons to live here.
Re: Don’t those loud sirens annoy you?

My pleasure- it really is a great lesson!

Re: Don’t those loud sirens annoy you?

Wow Paul, your story has changed how I feel when I hear sirens. In Jersey there's just too much driving involved. But if your market calls for that service, you are well on your way with servicing that need in a timely manner and to your advantage with all of the prep work you do ahead of time.

Re: NBC’s Open house Featuring The Steinway Mansion

Hi Kelly-
I will let the owners know you are available:)
Paul
